Catch a ride to the Juneteenth Parade!

juneteenth_bus_mockup_driver_sideOn Saturday, June 21, Capital Metro will join the Central Texas Juneteenth Committee in its annual Juneteenth celebration.

The Juneteenth Historical Parade, beginning at 10 a.m., will travel along east Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Chicon, Rosewood and finish at Rosewood Park.

BCD 140602B Juneteenth Sandwich BoardsCapital Metro offers various routes with service within blocks of the Juneteenth Celebration, including:

2 Rosewood

6 East 12th

18 MLK, Jr./Enfield

21 Exposition

22 Chicon

320 St. Johns

Riders should take note that routes listed above will be detoured around the parade route on June 21, due to street closures beginning at 7 a.m.

As the Capital Metro railroad tracks bisect Rosewood Park, the agency strongly urges the community to stay off the tracks and only cross at dedicated crossings. MetroRail begins service on Saturday, June 21 at 4 p.m., but festival goers should always expect a train, as freight trains may be in service. MetroRail trains are faster and quieter than freight trains. Learn more about rail safety.

Catch MetroRapid in the parade and also a transit information booth at Rosewood Park.

To help plan your trip to the Juneteenth parade using Capital Metro, call the GO Line at 512-474-1200 or visit the online trip planner.

Capital Metro wishes everyone in the community a safe and happy holiday.
