Capital Metro Seeking Feedback on Proposed June 2016 Service Changes

Capital Metro is encouraging public feedback on proposed service changes designed to improve the overall customer experience and adjust for summer school schedules. Proposed changes include a new circulator route in the city of Manor, minor schedule adjustments, and transitioning of select services to summer schedules.

The proposal will go before the Capital Metro board of directors on March 21. If approved, the changes would take effect Sunday, June 5, 2016.

Proposed Service Changes

New Route 470 Manor Circulator 
The new Route 470 would provide additional transit service within the city of Manor to area grocery, medical and social service locations seven days a week. Route 470 would travel along U.S. 290, Lexington Street, Bastrop Street, Old Hwy 20, S. Burnet St and Texas Loop 212. In addition, the route would provide easy transfers to Route 990 Manor/Elgin Express at the Manor Park & Ride located on Carrie Manor St.


Minor Schedule Adjustments 
In an effort to continue improving overall system performance, select routes may receive minor adjustments to their schedules to improve reliability and on-time performance. Schedule adjustments would be determined by public feedback received during March, and also route performance and staff recommendations.

School-Related Adjustments 
As customary every June, UT Shuttle, E-Bus service, and select trips on Local routes would transition to summer service levels. Trips would return to school-session schedules in August.

UT Shuttles 
All UT Shuttles would transition from full service to summer schedules based on University calendars.

E-Bus Service 
E-Bus service would be suspended during the summer session. Local Routes Select school-related weekday trips will be suspended during the summer on the following routes:

  • 4 Montopolis
  • 5 Woodrow/South Fifth
  • 7 Duval/Dove Springs
  • 300 Govalle
  • 325 Ohlen
  • 331 Oltorf
  • 333 William Cannon
