Capital Metro Interim President/CEO Doug Allen and Capital Metro board members Beverly Silas,  Norm Chafetz, and Frank Fernandez are in Vancouver this week for the American Public Transportation Association annual rail conference, hosted by TransLink.

In addition to learning about the newest trends and best practices in the industry, Doug has also been sharing his expertise. He presented an overview of the Red Line on Tuesday. A lot of transit authorities are interested in our “shared track” system as a cost effective model.

On Wednesday, Doug was part of a panel discussion about leveraging federal and local partnerships to enhance transit projects.

Doug’s Red Line presentation is behind the jump, and for a blow by blow account of the whole conference, check out the TransLink Buzzer Blog.
