This morning, the Capital Metro Board announced their finalists for president/CEO. This afternoon, Interim President/CEO Doug Allen sent the following statement to the media.
Capital Metro has made significant progress since I was appointed interim President/CEO last October. I am proud of what this agency has accomplished during this time, including the safe and successful launch of the MetroRail Red Line, the implementation of much-needed improvements to financial policies and procedures, and the amendment to the quarter-cent interlocal agreement with the City of Austin.
I have worked hard to help rebuild this community’s trust and confidence in Capital Metro, and there is more work to be done. While I am disappointed that I will not have the opportunity to continue to lead that effort, I trust that the Board of Directors will make the best possible decision for Capital Metro and the region. I will do whatever I can to ensure a smooth transition for the new President/CEO.
