ServicePlan2020 – Upcoming Open Houses

Earlier this year, Capital Metro initiated a comprehensive analysis of our entire bus system that will result in a 10-year service plan.

Two  advisory committees (technical and community) representing regional stakeholders have provided valuable guidance and feedback on the early work of ServicePlan2020. Initial concepts focus on improved efficiency, more direct service to key destinations, and simplified operations in Downtown.

    I just read the 2020 plan, and it just about came out and said that Wells Branch was a destination for people coming from the Tech Ridge Park & Ride. Sure, there’s a few strip malls, an assisted care facility and a commercial park, but aren’t there enough apartments and houses in that area that CapMetro should understand 243 isn’t enough to serve the residents of that area?

    I’d take the bus twice a day, 5 days a week if I could get to work at Burnet / MoPac in less than half an hour, and a lot of my neighbors work there too. It takes me 15 minutes to drive it. Why should I waste a whole additional hour going through Tech Ridge? The train fare to get from Howard one exit south is too embarrassing to suggest it will be a reasonable attempt at filling that need.
